Below are several "snapshots" of some examples of creative and promotional audio production. We peridically make changes to these excerpts from time to time, so check back! The links lead to MPEG format audio, a format we philosophically loathe. The files at full bandwidth sound significantly better, even to the untrained ear. This being said, the data compression does allow ease of transport over slower modems. We await real nationwide broadband with great anticipation, to alleviate these issues.
This is one of multi-year series of spots in which the Leroux Brothers spoof each other. Dale and Ron Leroux are great sports, and have enthusiastically embraced the tongue-in-cheek nature of the campaign. The radio ads have been beneficial, with the firm noting direct and consistent new business from the promotion. There are now over 45 individual spots in the series, which you can find at the Leroux site by clicking here..
Union Bank has been one of our longest running clients. The radio spots are upbeat and informative. We never seem to be able to get too wacky with the Bank, no matter how hard we try.
Kross Brewing, was an exceptional microbrewery that brewed traditional Belgian style ales and allowed us great latitude in creativity. Kross principal Kip Ross is highly creative with a great sense of humor. We'll post some of the "Great Arguments of History" series - coming soon. Some of our wackiest work, bar none. Radio Spots - Vermont Life featuring Rusty DeWees Rusty Dewees, New England's exceptional performer, comedian and writer, created these spots for Vermont Life Magazine. This series was produced by Gerianne Smart of Smart Communications. We recorded the music and voice over, edited, mixed and mastered. Find more about Rusty at TheLogger.com
Our good friend Peter
Ledden did us a great favor by reading two children's books; Eli,
by Bill Peet and the classic Reluctant Dragon by Kenneth Grahame.
This is an excerpt of the Reluctant Dragon. Peter (an expatriate
Englishman living in Perth, Western Australia) has an incredible speaking
voice - clear and articulate. The original track for this recording
was made by our friend Anthony Kitson at Pinnacle
Recording in Perth. He shipped a Digital Audio Cassette to us,
and we edited and sweetened here. We think Peter's voice should be
aggressively pursued for U.S. commercial voice over work and recommend
anyone interested contact Peter via email directly. Soundtrack - Vermont Public Television - Vermonters at War - Main Title This Vermont Public Television documentary, produced by Brian Young, featured inspiring, sometimes gut wrenching interviews from veterans of WW2. The music was scored here, and then arranged and performed by the Vermont Jazz Ensemble. We recorded their performance, and then returned home to edit and polish, delivering timed pieces for specific parts in the documentary. This is the main title theme, with orchestration added to the original brass recording.
Another excerpt, this one from a piece titled "Tossing Annie."
This Vermont Public Television weekly magazine program features perhaps one of my favorite main title themes. It faithfully captured the bluegrass-esque nature of the content, but managed to arrive with a very contemporary melody and rhythm track. Soundtrack composition is hardly an exact science, and this theme has worked extremely well with the opening sequences over the program's several seasons.
This is part of an intensive and comprehensive early childhood education project. The company producing this is Willinda. This is an excerpt from the first album in the LinguaSong series, called "She Makes A Wish". We co-wrote, co-produced, performed the instrumental tracks, recorded, mixed, edited and mastered all songs on the CD.
MERL was in the middle of developing several trade show examples of the considerable technical prowess of this Cambridge, Massachusetts engineering group. We composed, performed, recorded, edited and mastered the project, which played on broadcast television in Japan and has been featured in technical presentations by Mitsubishi domestically and internationally. |
